About Leighton Townhouse

Leighton Townhouse is a large detached Victorian villa, built in 1874 and standing in its own extensive gardens on the southern slopes of Bath with wonderful views across the city. We are just a 10 minute stroll from the heart of the City, just a 10 minute brisk walk from the train and bus stations and for guests coming by car, we offer complimentary on-site parking. Nearby we have a couple of good gastro pubs in Poets Corner as well as undoubtedly one of Bath’s best restaurants, Menu Gordon Jones, just a 3-5 minute walk away.

Our location gives you an ideal base to explore Bath, one of the World's most beautiful cities with an amazing history, stunning architecture and great shopping and restaurants, as well as the beautiful surrounding countryside. Whether you want to see the famous Georgian buildings of the Circus and Royal Crescent, visit the unique Roman Baths, relax in the Thermae Bath Spa, discover the avenues and streets walked by Jane Austen or make the most of Bath's shops and restaurants, everything is within walking distance of Leighton Townhouse.

So what does Townhouse mean?

We believe that what we offer is much more than most people think of when you say  ‘bed & breakfast’ or ‘guesthouse’.

Equally we do not claim or aspire to be a full-service hotel - we do not have a restaurant, full concierge service, staff in starched uniforms or the formality of big hotels.

So what are we? We think Townhouse describes what we offer quite well.

At Leighton Townhouse our aim is simple: We wish to offer the highest levels of personal service, stunning décor in our guest rooms, excellent facilities, a great breakfast and lots of little individual touches to make your stay one you will remember for all the right reasons. What we offer

10 individually designed bedrooms - you pick the room you want - each with very comfortable beds, quality crisp linens, beautiful furnishings and lots of little extras. Stunning fabrics, calming lighting and a peaceful colour palette ensure a restful night’s sleep. The hotel’s interiors have all been designed by owner and interiors designer, Sarah Jones, in her fresh, eclectic mix of European & English styles with more than a passing nod to Sarah’s passion for all things French.

Personal service - with just 10 rooms, we care passionately about the quality of our guest experience,  as well as having local knowledge and an ‘insiders’ view of Bath
